📝 A Little Backstory…
During the 2020/2021 COVID restrictions, I thought to myself… I wonder if I can recreate a few houses from my hometown on The Sims 4 as a way to pass the days of boredom.
I didn’t expect much from it, but to my surprise—I genuinely loved working on this little project. There was something comforting (and creatively fulfilling!) about rebuilding familiar streets, house by house. As I explored the diverse architecture in my neighborhood—from historic Victorian homes to more modern developments—I found a whole new appreciation for the place I grew up in.
Now, a few years later, with more Sims packs and tools at my disposal, I decided to revisit and refresh these builds—adding more realism, detail, and that special homely touch.
📍 Let Me Show You Rugby Town
Before we jump into the builds, let’s take a little virtual tour of the town that inspired it all.

Rugby is a market town in eastern Warwickshire, England, rich in history and known for its unique contribution to sport—yes, rugby football was born here!
Founded as a market town in 1255, Rugby’s fame grew in the 18th century thanks to the prestigious Rugby School, which later became a national icon. In 1823, a student named William Webb Ellis picked up the ball during a football match, inventing rugby as we know it today.
But Rugby isn’t just famous for sport—it’s a town with deep Victorian roots, lovely Georgian and Edwardian architecture, and a blend of quaint suburbs and modern touches. Many of the streets still retain their classic charm, with bay windows, red brick terraces, and characterful gardens.
📍 Key Districts That Make Up Rugby

🗺️ These are the areas I pulled inspiration from while recreating homes in-game:
Main Suburbs & Districts:
- Bilton
- Brownsover
- Hillmorton
- Hillside
- New Bilton
- Newbold-on-Avon
- Overslade
- Rokby
Adjoining Villages/Districts:
- Cawston
- Clifton-upon-Dunsmore
- Dunchurch
- Houlton
- Long Lawford
- Newton
Each area has its own charm—some with vintage post-war semis, others with new builds nestled in cul-de-sacs, or quiet lanes lined with ivy-covered cottages.
🏡 The Builds
Each house I’ve recreated carries the name of the area it’s inspired by. I’ve worked hard to keep the layouts practical, the designs authentic, and the decor lived-in, to reflect the real homes you’d find in Rugby today.
Whether it’s a tidy two-bed terrace from Overslade or a detached family home from Hillmorton, these builds reflect the spaces I know and love—and maybe, they’ll be the perfect new home for your Sims too.
