It’s finally here — SUMMER BREAK! 🙌
School’s out, I’m officially off work, and the house is buzzing with the sound of kids, snack requests, and the occasional argument over the TV over which movie or who’s playing a game. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, it’s lovely… and also a little exhausting.
But just as I was ready to dive into full-on Sims build mode and soak up the creative vibes, my eyes and glasses decided to betray me. Yep. Apparently, summer break is the perfect time for blurry vision, achy eyes, and the joy of needing new lenses… right in the middle of the most expensive month of the year, a.k.a. the great School Uniform Shopping Season™.
Between kitting out two growing boys, keeping the fridge stocked for their bottomless appetites, and now budgeting for new glasses, it’s giving “send help and biscuits” energy. 🍪
Sims Plans (Once I Can Actually See Again)
The good news? One brand new build is ready and queued up for release in a few days! 🎉 Keep your eyes peeled (pun intended) for that post soon — it’s one I’m really excited to share.
And once my new glasses arrive and my eyeballs stop staging a rebellion, I’m planning a few more fun Sims projects over the summer:
- 🎃 A Halloween-themed home (in the same fun, festive style I did for Easter — spooky but cute!)
- 🏠 Random whimsical builds inspired by whatever pops into my head during tea breaks
- 🌳 Slow but steady progress on my Willow Creek makeover — still in the dreamy, overgrown, storytelling zone for this one!
Summer Self-Care Mode: Activated
Until then, I’m leaning into the slower pace. Lots of tea, lots of audiobooks (still not quite the same as the feel of a real book, but they’re definitely helping me get through the ever-growing TBR pile), and rewatching some good old-fashioned musicals — you know the ones:
🎶 The King and I, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Calamity Jane… pure nostalgic gold.
It’s not the summer I planned, but it’s still got all the right cozy ingredients.
More very soon (once I can actually see the screen without squinting 😅).
Hope your summer’s off to a sunnier start than mine — and if not, join me in a cuppa and a chorus of “I Cain’t Say No.”
